The Planning and Zoning Department is the office to contact if you have questions or need information about zoning, land development, building and construction, building permits, unsafe structures, sign regulations, house moving, manufactured housing, private clubs, street or alley closings, certificates of occupancy and contractor information.

Responsibilities

• Comprehensive Development Review
• Administration and Interpretation of the Comprehensive Zoning Ordinance and Subdivision and Development Ordinance
• Land Use Planning and Code Analysis
• Provides Comprehensive Long-Range Planning
• Implements City's Comprehensive Plan
• Sets the Planning & Zoning and Board of Adjustment Agendas
• Updates Zoning Ordinance and Maps
• Publishes Public Notices and provides Property Owner Notification for Zoning Change and Specific Use Permit Requests
• Reviews Plat Applications
• Reviews & makes recommendations regarding zoning requests
